Famara Beach on the northern coast of Lanzarote

Living on Lanzarote is an unforgettable experience. A landscape that is so special and so varied; it is nature at its best. The island is dominated by a spectacular volcanic landscape. On parts of the island, such as the Ruta de los Volcanes through Timanfaya in "The Mountains of Fire", the scenery is literally not of this planet. Its lunar landscape is what films are made of, and many films have been made there. The whole island is full of striking sites of enormous beauty, some of nature, and some, where the hand of man has managed to blend art and nature. The man being Cesar Manrique, Lanzarote's most universal artist, who has had a great influence in preserving the uniqueness of this island, with the low rise white buildings being a testement to his way of thinking. Lanzarote was declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1993.

Lanzarote has everything you could wish for in an idyllic island paradise. The stunning exoticism of the most awesome volcanic landscapes, mountain high rocky cliff tops with spectacular island views, green lagoons isolated from the sea, curious cactus and green palms. From vines perched on grey rocky hills to a vast brown and barren nothingness, which is contrasted by stretches of brilliant golden sands stretching alongside turquoise clear waters. It has the climate of dreams, moderate and warm all year round. A relaxed lifestyle amongst contented and friendly locals. You can savor an excellent variety of delicious cuisines and enjoy fine wines at a price that wont break the bank. An enjoyable, high standard of living at a low cost. It is simply, our favourite Canary Island!
