Ode to an Island
Travel from mountain high rocky cliff tops with spectacular island views,
to beautiful long beaches lining the idyllic, clear blue sea. Venture amongst
oddly shaped coastal rock pools harbouring mysterious hidden creatures. Safari in the
endless sunshine, through curious cactus and green palms and across the dusty
brown and barren nothingness. Search out green lagoons isolated by volcanic
hills and divided from the sea. Climb the grey picon hills planted with vines
and descend into secluded sandy coves and cool in the warmth of the sea.
Travel from the bustle of the city, leave the planet and become lost amongst
an awesome, eerie desolation of a vast, cratered, lunar landscape.
In my travels I discovered all of this, and all in less than forty miles!
Lanzarote, the island of contrast; the mountains of fire, the green cactus,
the grey hills, the brown deserts, the sandy beaches and the blue sky and sea.
Lanzarote , the island with a climate as warm and enduring as the the welcome
from the people that who live there.
